ScarShield Silicone Scar Tape

Cut a supplier-verified 4 cm x 3 m roll to fit the mark, instead of stretching a fixed-size patch. Soft silicone tape for scar appearance care, post-procedure areas or rough patches, worn daily without stacked-patch bulk.

  • Self-adhesive silicone side. Peel the liner, press it on, no tape or glue needed

Why roll tape

Coverage you cut to the shape you need

Flat patches can leave gaps or waste material. ScarShield is a roll format, so you trim a clean strip for a small line, wider mark or awkward curve. Pictured: the unbranded roll at its supplier-verified 4 cm x 3 m size, the dimensions our manufacturing partner ships against.

Flexible stripMoves with common areas like wrists, chest, abdomen and knees.
Low profile feelSits flatter under clothing than stacked patches.

Daily feel

Thin silicone texture made for repeat wear

The thin silicone layer sits directly on the skin and creates a soft, breathable seal over the surface, the same occlusion principle behind clinical silicone sheeting. Cut the length, place it flat, then replace as needed, building the seal into your routine week after week rather than a single application.

  • 1Clean and dry the area before applying
  • 2Cut a strip slightly larger than the visible mark
  • 3Press the silicone side flat and smooth the edges
  • 4Replace as needed, continuing daily for 8 to 12 weeks as a routine, not a one-time fix

Evidence without hype

Silicone sheeting is used in scar care, but certainty is limited

A 2021 Cochrane review found that the available studies on silicone gel sheeting for hypertrophic scars were small and the certainty of evidence was low or very low. That is why this page does not promise removal, healing or a guaranteed visual result, only a roll-format way to build the same daily silicone-occlusion routine into your day.

ScarShield silicone roll detail

Designed to sit flat

The thin silicone texture is designed to sit flat during ordinary routines. Each strip is cut from a supplier-verified 4 cm wide roll, so it lies in one layer instead of stacking patches.

Easy to restock

Choose a larger bundle when you want more coverage days on hand. Each roll holds 3 m, so a 4 roll bundle is 12 m of tape to cut from.

Questions before checkout

ScarShield basics

Does it stay on in the shower, and how do I take it off?

The silicone side is self-adhesive. Peel the liner, press the strip down, and it holds without tape or glue. Our manufacturing partner specifies the material as washable and waterproof, so an ordinary shower does not mean taking it off. To remove it, lift one corner and peel it back slowly by hand. No solvent or adhesive remover is needed. If a strip picks up lint or looks dull, rinse it in warm water, let it air dry, then press it back on. Replace the strip once it stops sticking cleanly.

What if I have sensitive skin, or the scar is still new?

The tape is a thin silicone layer the supplier lists as breathable, and it is for closed, intact skin only. Do not apply it to an open or untreated wound. After a procedure, wait until the stitches have been out for one to two weeks and the area has closed with no oozing or crusting. If you have a known silicone or adhesive allergy, do not use it. If you are unsure, ask your clinician first.

What size is each roll?

Each roll is approximately 4 cm wide and 3 m long, the supplier-verified dimensions our manufacturing partner ships against. Cut strips to fit the area you want to cover.

Does anything actually change, and over what period?

ScarShield does not work overnight. The silicone layer creates a soft, breathable seal over the surface of the area you cover, and the daily habit is the routine, not a single application. Most people build it into their day for at least 8 to 12 weeks of consistent wear, replacing the strip as it wears, the same pattern clinical silicone sheeting routines follow.

Can I wear it under clothing?

Yes. The thin silicone tape sits flat, though comfort depends on placement, movement and skin sensitivity.

Is this a medical treatment?

ScarShield is sold for appearance care and daily coverage routines. Follow your clinician's advice for surgical or medical wounds.

Customer photos

What ScarShield customers say

Eight customer perspectives on trimming, applying and living with roll-format silicone tape.

  • Customer photo of a trimmed ScarShield strip on healthy abdomen skin
I trimmed ScarShield around the area instead of trying to make a fixed patch fit. The translucent strip lay flat on clean, intact skin and stayed discreet under clothing.
    Grace W.Providence, RI · 3 days ago
  • Customer photo applying a ScarShield strip to a forearm
I am on my second ScarShield bundle. The thin strip presses down smoothly on my forearm, and I like cutting a fresh piece instead of storing loose fixed-size patches.
    Kenji V.Tucson, AZ · 6 weeks ago
  • Customer flat lay of ScarShield tape, a cut strip and scissors
Small scissors give me a cleaner edge with ScarShield. I wish the liner were easier to start, but the 4 cm roll makes it simple to cut the width and length I want.
Renata S.Ann Arbor, MI · last month
  • Customer photo unboxing a ScarShield roll from a plain mailer
ScarShield arrived in a simple mailer with the roll in good shape. I could open it, trim a strip and add it to my evening routine right away.

  • Customer bathroom mirror photo with a ScarShield strip on a shoulder
Four stars because the shoulder took a little practice to place by myself. Once smoothed down, ScarShield sat flatter under my shirt than the stacked patches I used before.
